Seneca Falls, NY - Women's Rights National Historical Park Superintendent Tammy Duchesne announced today that the park will have a special celebration in honor of Elizabeth Cady Stanton's 196th birthday.

Stanton, one of the organizers of the First Women's Rights Convention held in Seneca Falls, was born on November 12, 1815. To mark the occasion, on Saturday, November 12, visitors can enjoy cupcakes and view a showing of the film Not for Ourselves Alone, which documents the work of Stanton and her close friend Susan B. Anthony in their struggle for women's right to vote. This film is also being featured as part of the park's Winter Film Festival that runs every Friday and Saturday from November through April.

"We are excited to celebrate this event with the public," said Duchesne. "Stanton was a pioneer in the women's rights movement, and her story continues to resonate with people around the world."

The film begins at 12 noon in the Guntzel Theater, located on the first floor of the Women's Rights National Historical Park Visitor Center at 136 Fall Street in downtown Seneca Falls. All park programs are free and open to the public. For more information, please visit our website or call (315) 568-0024.
