Seneca Falls, NY – Celebrate International Women's Day! On Saturday, March 8, 2014, Women's Rights National Historical Park will host a discussion on the continuing struggle for equality, "Declaring Equality: Renewing a Legacy." This conversation will analyze how the call for women's rights spans generations and cultures.

The discussion will be conducted with acclaimed author Nadia Shahram and Elizabeth Cady Stanton (portayed by Dr. Melinda Grube). Nadia Shahram is a collaborative lawyer, mediator, educator, and activist in Buffalo, New York. Ms. Shahram is the author of Marriage on the Street Corners of Tehran, a novel based on true stories of Iranian Muslim women facing legal and cultural inequality in everyday life. Dr. Melinda Grube is an Adjunct Lecturer at Cayuga Community College.

This special event will be co-sponsored by the National Park Service at Women's Rights National Historical Park, the Women's Institute for Leadership and Learning, and the Women's Interfaith Institute in the Finger Lakes.

"We are thrilled to host this discussion of women's rights which crosses generations and builds bridges of understanding and respect," said Superintendent Ami Ghazala. "We are honored to partner with the Women's Institute for Leadership and Learning and the Women's Interfaith Institute in the Finger Lakes," added Ghazala.

This special event will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 11:00 am in the Guntzel Theater, Women's Rights National Historical Park, 136 Fall Street, Seneca Falls, New York. Admission is free.
