Seneca Falls, NY - Women's Rights National Historical Park invites the public to attend special events at the park on Equality Day, August 26th. On August 26, 1920, the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution became law enabling women to vote in the fall elections, including in the Presidential election. The right to vote came more than 72 years after the First Women's Rights Convention was held in Seneca Falls.

To celebrate Equality Day, the park will offer extended hours (9-9pm), exhibit a Voting Rights timeline, offer three screenings of the critically acclaimed Ken Burns film, "Not for Ourselves Alone" (to be screened at 10:00am, 2:00pm, and 5:30pm), and host an open house from 5-9pm; light refreshments will be served. The park's new Superintendent, Tammy Duchesne, will be present at the open house and looks forward to meeting local residents, learning how the park can serve the Finger Lake and greater New York region, and exploring opportunities for partnering and collaborating with local schools, universities, civic organizations, and municipalities.
