Women’s Rights NHP to Show Episode Four of "The National Parks" in Winter Film Festival

Women's Rights National Historical Park continues its second annual Winter Film Festival by showing Episode Four of the documentary film The National Parks on Friday, March 8, and Saturday, March 9, 2013.

Episode Four of The National Parks: America's Best Idea, entitled "Going Home," spans the years 1920 - 1933. Film maker Ken Burns highlights the stories of several people who use the national parks in creative and innovative ways.In this episode Stephen Mather and Horace Albright use the automobile to attract more Americans to national parks. The running time for Episode Four of The National Parks is 117 minutes.

Women's Rights National Historical Park commemorates and preserves the sites associated with the First Women's Rights Convention, held in 1848 in Seneca Falls. "We are proud to be part of the National Park system, and we invite everyone to join us in enjoying Ken Burns' film about our national parks," said Superintendent Tammy Duchesne. "The Winter Film Festival is a fun way to learn about our national history," added Superintendent Duchesne.

All Winter Film Festival showings will occur at 12:00 Noon on Fridays and Saturdays at the Women's Rights National Historical Park Visitor Center, located at 136 Fall Street in Seneca Falls.All film showings are free of charge. The Winter Film Festival films are intended for a general audience.Visitors are encouraged to call if they are interested in a particular showing as film lengths vary.
