December 31,2012 The Friends of the William Howard Taft Birthplace host the annual New Year's Open House. from 1-4 p,m., the public is invited to visit the house and enjoy holiday refreshments, just as the guests to the Taft house would have done in the 1850's at the birthplace of the nation's 27th Presidnet. William Howard Taft National Historic Site is located at 2038 Auburn avenue and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
