Field Trips

Visitors to William Howard Taft National Historic Site will be exposed to the family life and social influences that shaped the character and ideals of the only American who ever served as both President and Chief Justice of the United States. Guided tours of the period rooms on the first floor and the exhibits on the second floor of the birthplace provide solid insight into William Howard Taft and glimpses into the lives of his parents, siblings, and children.

Taft Education Center

The Taft Education Center exhibits and programs provide a greater understanding of the role other Tafts have played to help mold public life in Cincinnati, the nation and even the world.

Gallery I contains a life - size animatronic figure of Charles P. Taft II, son of William Howard Taft. Charlie will talk to visitors about what he called "quite a family."

Gallery II contains static and traveling exhibits. An orientation video and a gift shop are also available in the education center.

The visitor experience begins in the Taft Education Center. Visitors should allow about 1 to 1 1/2 hours at William Howard Taft NHS.

Bookstore/ Museum Areas

Our education center is designed to be accessible to all visitors. Teachers and chaperons are expected to control students at all times so that injury to persons and/or property may be prevented. Teachers receive a 15% Discount in the bookstore with proper identification. Flash photography is permitted.

Group Reservations

If you have a group of ten or more people in your party, please Contact Us the park. Please schedule your reservation at least two weeks in advance of your anticipated arrival.

Important Note:

School groups of 30 or more who visit the park will be divided up into two seperate groups during their visit. 50 students is the maximum number of students that we can accommodate at one time. Teachers who wish to bring more than 50 students at a time will need to divide their field trip up into a two day visit with us.
