On these pages, we will be offering the sights of Wind Cave National Park through an assortment of materials ranging from photo galleries, to video clips and programs, PowerPoint programs, and other multimedia items. But remember - there's no substitute for being here. So explore these links and let yourself become inspired to make a greater exploration, in person, one of the world's longest, most complex caves or to spend time hiking across the windswept prairie to see firsthand the animals that make this place their home. Did You Know?
Fire is an important factor in protecting the prairie. Historically, fires burned across the prairie every 4 to 7 years. Fires burn the small trees that would otherwise march across the prairie and turn the grasslands to forest.
