On August 11, 2001 cave explorers mapped out passages which pushed Wind Cave past the 100 mile point.  This graphic indicates which areas of the cave were mapped in each of the time frames given.  Exploration continues today.

The Star Lilly (Leucocrinum montanum) has several common names including sand lily, sage lily, mountain lily, wild tuberose, and Star-of-Bethlehem. The word Leucocrinum comes from Greek meaning "white lily."
