Abstract

Memorandum for the Director. A supplement to the report (April 9, 1948) of James E. Cole, Biologist at Wind Cave on field investigations of prairie-dog towns found within the park. Cahalane states that "Mr. Cole has initiated a valuable record of a highly interesting animal. This record, we hope, will be carried on and kept up to date through ground surveys by himself or other Service employeds or, as he suggests, by aerial photography."
