Stoll announced today that the public review period for an environmental assessment (EA) prepared to replace a failing wastewater treatment facility has been extended. The comment period now runs until May 15. Superintendent Stoll invites the public to attend an informal open house at the Wind Cave Visitor Center on Thursday, April 24, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. to discuss the plan with park staff and to comment on the alternatives. If you wish to comment on the environmental assessment, mail comments to Superintendent; Wind Cave National Park; RR 1, Box 190; Hot Springs, SD 57747-9430 or email comments to: wica_planning@nps.gov. Names and addresses of people who comment become part of the public record. If you wish your name and or address withheld, state this prominently at the beginning of your comment. All submissions from organizations, businesses, and from individuals identifying themselves as representatives or officials of organizations or businesses will be available for public inspection in their entirety. Copies of the environmental assessment can be found on-line at www.nps.gov/wica/. In addition, printed copies are available for review at the Custer, Hot Springs, and Rapid City libraries and at the Wind Cave National Park Visitor Center. |
