Since conditions throughout the park can change rapidly and unexpectedly, we recommend you please call the Visitor Center at (530) 246-1225 for the most up-to-date information on park conditions. As of 2/6/2015 the following conditions are:
Crystal Creek Road: This road is closed just above Crystal Creek Falls entrance road. This road will remain closed until further notice due to major slides.
South Fork Mountain Lookout Road: This road is closed in order to control access. Visitors who wish to gain vehicular access can visit Park Headquarters Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to request the combination to the gate. Visitors must bring a photo identification and state their purpose for using the road.
Shasta Bally Road: This road is closed due to bad weather and will remain closed until Spring of 2015.
Mill Creek Road: This road will be closed until further notice due to slick, unsafe conditions from the weather and recent project work on the road.
Peltier Valley Road (past the campground): Due to major erosion, this road will remain closed until further notice.
James K. Carr Trail: The James K. Carr trail is closed until further notice. The road to access this trail has many slides that are unsafe for vehicles to travel on.
Oak Bottom beach bathroom and facilities: This bathroom and shower area is planned to be up and running by March of 2015.
