Local author Sheila Heuer will have the formal release and signing of her newly published book Cowboy the Magic Horse at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area Visitor Center bookstore on Friday, June 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The visitor center is located at 14412 J.F. Kennedy Memorial Drive. The public is invited to celebrate this amazing story of a young girl named Sophia and the very special relationship she has with her horse, Cowboy. Based on a true story of the unconditional love and friendship between a girl and her loyal horse, this book is the first in a planned series. The book’s illustrator, Jacki Goedert, will also be on hand and will display images from the book. There is a possibility that the main character from the book, Cowboy, will also make a cameo appearance! -NPS-
