Whiskeytown National Recreation Area invites children and their parents or guardians to join park rangers for a pleasant hike to Whiskeytown Falls on Saturday, October 8, 2011. The hike will celebrate the wonderful summer experience, which is drawing toward a season's closure. The "Children's End of Summer Hike" promotes healthy physical activity and will help children and their adult companions to get out into nature. In addition, this will be the 50th hike to Whiskeytown Falls for one local 5th grader. The student completed his 49th hike to the falls in early August. National Park Service Rangers would like to have 50 children and their parents join them to celebrate this achievement. -NPS-
