On December 8, 2011 the Historic Camden House in Whiskeytown NRA was broken into, with numerous items stolen from the interior of the home and its outlying buildings. Whiskeytown Rangers responded to a theft that occurred sometime in the early morning with suspects breaking into the houses exterior buildings and vandalizing the home before taking valuable cultural resources. Several antiques were stolen including the largest items, a steam powered Buck Saw and a wooden chair with peach colored upholstery. The loss of these items and damage to the house is a great detriment to the cultural history of Northern California.

The National Park Service is seeking any information from anyone who may know anything about the theft. If you would like to provide any information regarding the theft, please contact Ranger Eric Pelletier at 530-242-3417 or Park Dispatch at 530-242-3431.
