National Trails Day

Date: April 24, 2008

As part of the annual National Trails Day, the National Park Service is looking for Boy and Girl Scout volunteers to assist with trail clean-up in President’s Park on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Troops must pre-register since participation is limited. All necessary tools will be provided. Bottled water will be available, but scouts should bring their own lunch, including a drink.

After the work session in the morning, the scouts will participate in a number of activities, including a “Walking Tour Though History” with costumed historical characters. At the end of the day, participants will receive an NPS backpack with patches and other small items inside.

For more information, or to register your troop, please call the Volunteer Coordinator at (202) 208-1631 x228 or by e-mail.
