Director Mary Bomar was one of several dignitaries, including First Lady Laura Bush, Mrs. Lynne Cheney, Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne and other cabinet secretaries, to read a story in a “reading nook” on the White House Lawn as part of the 2007 White House Easter Egg Roll.

Before reading “M is for Majestic: A National Parks Alphabet” to children and their parents, Director Bomar joined President’s Park rangers in staffing a Junior Ranger table with special materials designed for the this year’s White House Easter Egg Roll.

The National Park Service supports this annual event, the largest public event held at the White House, playing a substantial role in the set up, ticket distribution, and event coordination. Children and their families enjoyed the rolling of eggs, popular children’s entertainment, roving characters, a “bunny fitness trail”, and a variety of other activities taking place on both the White House grounds and on the Ellipse.
