Weir Farm National Historic Site and the Weir Farm Art Center present Selected Works: Mahonri Young, an exhibition of paintings and sketches by noted artist Mahonri Young. On exhibit through October, these works range from dancing Hopis to dueling boxers, statuesque goats to sleeping cats, and from the rural fields of Branchville, Connecticut to the street corners of Salt Lake City. Though he was best known as a sculptor, Mahonri Young was also a talented draftsman, painter and etcher. Young moved to the farm shortly after marrying J. Alden Weir's daughter Dorothy. Selected entirely from private collections, most of this work has never been exhibited publicly. The exhibit can be viewed in the visitor center Wednesday to Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. For more information, please call (203) 834-1896 or visit www.nps.gov/wefa.
