Take Part in Art

Date: May 1, 2008

"Take Part in Art" and discover your inner artist at Weir Farm National Historic Site.  Beginning Saturday, May 3, visitors will have the opportunity to experience first-hand the fun of plein air painting while becoming a part of a unique and enduring artistic tradition.  Bring your friends and family and discover what Julian Alden Weir described as "that wonderful something that the landscape in nature suggests...."  Watercolor supplies will be loaned out by the National Park Service allowing each visitor to capture a view of the farm which they are invited to keep.  Be creative, be inspired, and "Take Part in Art" at Weir Farm National Historic Site every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, May through October.  There is no fee to participate in this program.

Weir Farm National Historic Site was home to three artists: painter Julian Alden Weir, sculptor Mahonri Young, and painter Sperry Andrews.
