Jazz in the Garden
Sunday, September 7, 2008: Outdoor concert featuring Chris Brubeck and Friends. Benefits the Weir Farm Art Center. There is no parking available at Weir Farm National Historic Site for the concert. All attendees must park at the Branchville Elementary School, located at 40 Florida Road off Route 102 in Ridgefield, and ride the free shuttle to Weir Farm National Historic Site. Shuttles will run continuously from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Preservation and Protection Art Exhibit
The National Park Service presents and exhibition of artwork from the collection including works by J. Alden Weir, his father Robert Walter Weir, Mahonri Young and Weir's daughters Caroline Weir Ely and Dorothy Weir Young. The exhibition will be on display until February 1, 2009.

Illustration techniques and botanical drawing history will be covered in both classroom and garden settings.

National Trails Day
On Saturday, June 7, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Weir Farm National Historic Site, in cooperation with the Ridgefield Conservation Commission and the Norwalk River Watershed Association (NRWA), will celebrate National Trails Day with a guided hike through the many trails of the NRWA trail network.

Take Part in Art
Beginning Saturday, May 3, visitors will have the opportunity to experience first-hand the fun of plein air painting while becoming a part of a unique and enduring artistic tradition. Be creative, be inspired, and "Take Part in Art" at Weir Farm National Historic Site every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, May through October.

Naturalist Frank Gallo of New Canaan will lead the annual Spring Bird Walk in the Weir Preserve adjacent to Weir Farm National Historic Site on Sunday, May 4, beginning at 7:30 AM.

Saturday, April 19 marked the beginning of National Park Week, our nation's annual celebration of its magnificent natural landscapes and diverse cultural heritage.
