Weir Farm National Historic Site
Jazz in the Garden

Date: September 1, 2008

The Weir Farm Art Center, in cooperation with Weir Farm National Historic Site, is pleased to present its 13th annual outdoor concert, Jazz in the Garden, on Sunday, September 7th from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm.  Come see acclaimed musicians, Chris Brubeck on trombone and bass, Dan Brubeck on drums, Chuck Lamb on keyboard, and Mike DeMicco guitar.

This year the Paint Brush Raffle, an annual highlight of Jazz in the Garden, will feature the work of artist BJ Faulkner.  Faulkner is influenced by the work of Henri Matisse. She specializes in charming, colorful views of city streets and villages. Among her recent credits is the commission by the Boston Symphony Orchestra to design the 1996 Tanglewood music festival poster.  She was also commissioned by United Airlines to create their European destination poster in 2005. In 2007, she presented a one woman exhibition at Carriage Barn at Waveny Park in New Canaan.  Jazz in the Garden visitors have the opportunity to win one of Faulkner’s whimsical images by purchasing a single raffle ticket for $15 or three tickets for $40.

Share in the festive ambience on the beautiful terraced gardens of Weir Farm National Historic Site.   Enjoy the great jazz sounds while picnicking with friends and family.  Come be a part of the fun and support Weir Farm Art Center’s programs on behalf of Weir Farm National Historic Site.
