War in the Pacific National Historical Park Reopens to Visitors

Hagåtña, Guam – War in the Pacific National Historical Park (NHP) re-opens to visitors on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Visitors can access public areas and roads immediately while facilities and other public services are brought back online. War in the Pacific NHP has been closed since October 2 due to the lapse in Congressional appropriations.

Guam was administered by the U.S. Navy beginning from 1898? The idyllic tropical life for the small military contingent was shattered by the Japanese attack on December 8, 1941.
