Ron Borne will serve as acting superintendent of War in the Pacific National Historical Park beginning August 13, 2013.  He will serve at the park on Guam while the National Park Service (NPS) recruits for a permanent superintendent.  Ron Borne follows Barbara Alberti who transferred to the Human Resources office of the Pacific West Region in San Francisco.

Ron, a five year employee of the NPS, is the Facility Manager at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and brings 25 years federal management experience in the Pacific Islands.  Ron is also a retired Army officer.  

“I am enthusiastic about working with our employees and our partners on Guam and Saipan,” Ron said.  “I want to continue the warm relations with the community and our visitors. I hope to demonstrate my belief and confidence in what we do as a national park to all our employees and park friends.”

The superintendent of War in the Pacific National Historical Park in the Territory of Guam also serves as the park manager for American Memorial Park on the island of Saipan in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas.  

Both War in the Pacific NHP and American Memorial Park contain some of the finest remains of World War II in the National Park System.
