Back by popular demand, the Junior Ranger Academy in March will bring 7th and 8th graders an exciting week of fun in the national park. You won't want to miss it!

Schedule of Adventures:

March 25, Monday: History on Wheels
Time: 9 am - 12 pm
Pick up and drop off place: T. Stell Newman Visitor Center, Sumay

Visit some of the most beautiful park sites in the nation and learn about the incredible battles that took
place in these areas. Jump on the Junior Ranger bus and a National Park Service ranger will guide you on
this exciting historical tour.


March 26, Tuesday: Culture & Coconuts
Time: 9 am - 12 pm
Pick up and drop off place: Ga'an Point, Agat

With nearly 400 documented vascular plant species and an estimated 3,500 marine plants and animals,
the War in the Pacific National Historical Park has a diversity of species that is unequaled by any other
national park in the United States. One of the most significant natural resources in our park, as well as in
other Pacific islands, is the coconut tree. Junior Rangers will learn about the wonders of this plant and
the various uses of it through weaving and cooking.


March 27, Wednesday: Striving for Stewardship
Time: 9 am - 12 pm
Pick up and drop off place: Asan Beach

The War in the Pacific National Historical Park seeks to conserve natural, scenic, and historic values and
objects for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations. Junior Rangers will do
community service and take the lead in maintaining our national treasures.


March 28, Thursday: Artifact Exploration
Time: 9 am - 12 pm
Pick up and drop off place: T. Stell Newman Visitor Center, Sumay

Go behind the scenes and take a glimpse of Guam's amazing World War II artifacts. Go on a virtual tour
of the War in the Pacific National Historical Park's museum collection, explore the Pacific War Museum,
and investigate one of the cultural resources of our park.


March 29, Friday: Snorkeling Adventure!
Time: 9 am - 12 pm
Pick up and drop off place: Asan Beach

Did you know that War in the Pacific National Historical Park has more water acres (1002 acres) than
land acres (926 acres)? Spend time with park biologists as you explore the Asan coast and learn about
marine life. Tune your senses to the awesome underwater world at your national park.


March 30, Saturday: Junior Ranger Ceremony
Time: 9 am - 10 am
Place: T. Stell Newman Visitor Center, Sumay

Bring in your passport with at least FIVE stamps and receive an official Junior Ranger badge, certificate,
& t-shirt.
