Operating Hours & Seasons

**Entry to park trails closes 1- hour before the monument closes.**



Park entrance road, trails, and Visitor Center are open all year, except December 25.

Hours: November - May 22 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST

May 23 - October 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST


NOTE: Most of Arizona does not observe Daylight Savings Time. We stay on Mountain Standard Time year-round.

the original Ranger Cabin, constructed in 1904

Walnut Canyon has been protected since 1904, first as part of the San Francisco Mountain Reserve (later Coconino National Forest). Early caretakers lived in a log cabin on the canyon rim. Walnut Canyon National Monument was established in 1915, one year before the National Park Service.
