Thank you for your interest in the Flagstaff Area National Monuments Education Program. This includes, Walnut Canyon, Wupatki and Sunset Crater Volcano National Monuments. National Park Service sites offer wonderful opportunities for students, of all ages, to experience an outdoor classroom. In gaining greater understanding of the earth and its inhabitants, students learn stewardship and preservation ethics. Park Rangers work to preserve and protect monument resources while teaching students about what makes the sites special. The Flagstaff Area National Monuments is currently in the process of updating the education program. The following materials were designed to assist you in preparing for a class trip to the monument(s), as well as offer resources to enhance your educational experience whether you bring your class to the Flagstaff Area Monuments, or want to bring the Flagstaff Area Monuments into your classroom. |
