Be A Junior Ranger

Our Junior Ranger Program
Walnut Canyon National Monument is recruiting Junior Rangers. It is easy to earn your badge. It just takes a little time. Ask at the visitor center for a Junior Ranger booklet. Complete it, hand it in to a ranger to check it, and receive your badge! We are always happy to have new Junior Rangers join our staff!

Did You Know?

the original Ranger Cabin, constructed in 1904

Walnut Canyon has been protected since 1904, first as part of the San Francisco Mountain Reserve (later Coconino National Forest). Early caretakers lived in a log cabin on the canyon rim. Walnut Canyon National Monument was established in 1915, one year before the National Park Service.
