To commemorate Veterans Day, the Western National Parks Association bookstore at Washita Battlefield National Historic Site Visitor Center will offer a 15% discount during the weekend of November 10-12. This includes the entire selection of merchandise, plus all sales and clearance items that have previously been marked down. With the holiday season fast approaching, this will be an excellent opportunity to browse the bookstore for gifts.

The Visitor Center also includes a park film and an exhibit area, with normal operational hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm, 7 days a week. Rangers are available to answer questions and provide information and visitors may also tour the interpretive trail at the park overlook.   During the holidays, the Visitor Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 22; Christmas Day, Tuesday, December 25; and New Year's Day, Tuesday, January 1, 2013.

The site is located one mile west of Cheyenne, OK on Highway 47A. For more information, call 580-497-2742 or browse the park website at www.nps.gov/waba.
