Washita Battlefield National Historic Site Holiday Schedule

With the holiday season upon us, the staff at Washita Battlefield National Historic Site would like to thank the public for their support in 2009 and wish everyone a happy holiday. We invite everyone to visit our visitor center which includes a park film, an exhibit area, and a bookstore. Park Rangers are available to provide information and tours.

The visitor center will be closed on Friday, December 25th and Friday, January 1st, 2010.

“This has been a memorable year at Washita Battlefield NHS,” said park superintendent, Lisa Conard Frost, “I look back on many memories from my first year here at Washita - Michael Blake speaking at the Cheyenne High School Auditorium, Paul Hutton’s observations about the history of this very important part of western Oklahoma, and most recently the Day of Remembrance and Reflection which was the 141st anniversary of the engagement, thank you all for your continued support of your National Park!
