September 5, 2013 – The Heart of the Continent Partnership (HOCP) will be holding its quarterly meeting in the Grand Marais/Gunflint area Thursday, October 3 and Friday, October 4, 2013 at YMCA Camp Menogyn.

The agenda will include:

ØInformation on the Grand Marais area economic community visioning process

ØThe story of the Chik Wauk Museum complete with a tour

ØThe quarterly meeting with updates on the National Geographic Geotourism map initiative

The meeting will start at 1:30 pm on Thursday, October 3, 2013 with afternoon and evening segments. The Chik Wauk tour will start at 11 am on Friday, October 4, 2013. Pontoon service across Bearskin Lake to reach Menogyn will be provided.

The Heart of the Continent Partnership is a Canadian/American coalition of land managers and local stakeholders working together on cross-border projects that promote the economic, cultural and natural health of the lakes, forests and communities on the Ontario/Minnesota border.
