Join ranger naturalist Mike Williams to discover the importance of fishing in this area - from the first inhabitants, to the commercial fishermen of the early 1900s, to the sports fishermen (and women) of today. Learn about the ways different groups of people went about catching their next meal.

Meet at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center on Sunday, February 20, 2011. The program runs from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This program is sponsored by Voyageurs National Park Association. No fee or registration is required to attend.

Visitors are encouraged to come early to browse through the museum, check out the winter displays in the interactive area, and go snowshoeing or skiing.
