Voyageurs National Park Hosts Family Movie Day - Eight Below

 Come to the Rainy Lake Visitor Center for a Family Movie Day on Sunday, March 27, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Refreshments and popcorn provided.  

Voyageurs National Park will show Eight Below – a two hour family friendly movie about loyalty and adventure. A brutal storm forces Antarctic explorers to evacuate early for winter, without their team of sled dogs. Will any of the eight dogs survive until the spring when they return? This movie is loosely based on real events and is recommended for ages 8 and up.

This program is sponsored by Voyageurs National Park Association. No fee or registration is required to attend.

Visitors are encouraged to come early to browse through the museum, check out the winter displays in the interactive area, and go snowshoeing or skiing.

Did You Know?

Park volunteer, Ida Mainville steers a canoe full of modern-day voyageurs.

You can see the park just as the voyageurs did over 200 years ago.  Each summer the park offers guided trips aboard a 26-foot North Canoe.  Call for more infomation at 1-888-381-2873.
