Prescribed Burns in Voyageurs National Park
Four prescribed burns will be conducted during the summer of 2009. These burns will continue to encourage the restoration of pine and oak regeneration in Voyageurs National Park.

Bald Eagle Nesting Areas Protected in Voyageurs National Park
Each year since 1992, the park has temporarily closed the land and water areas around active bald eagle nests to visitor use during their critical nesting periods. This year, thirteen of the park’s 38 active nesting sites occupied by breeding pairs are temporarily closed to campers and other human activities effective immediately.

Starting June 14, 2009 Voyageurs National Park will begin its 2009 tour boat and naturalist guided programs on Kabetogama, Rainy, and Namakan Lakes.
