Voyageurs National Park Announces Holiday Hours

 The holiday hours for Voyageurs National Park’s Rainy Lake Visitor Center will be as follows:

Christmas Eve, Friday, December 24, 2010 - closed  

Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25, 2010 – closed

Sunday, December 26, 2010 – open 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Wednesday-Friday, December 29-31, 2010 – open 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

New Year’s Day, Saturday, January 1, 2011 – closed

Regular winter hours resume on Sunday, January 2, 2011. The visitor center is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  

Visitors are invited to come to the visitor center to view winter exhibits, watch the park’s film, and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa. With the area’s recent snowfall, now is a good time to take advantage of the park’s ski and snowshoe loan programs.

Did You Know?

Park volunteer, Ida Mainville steers a canoe full of modern-day voyageurs.

You can see the park just as the voyageurs did over 200 years ago.  Each summer the park offers guided trips aboard a 26-foot North Canoe.  Call for more infomation at 1-888-381-2873.
