In 1965, Voyageurs National Park Association (VNPA) was formed to work for the creation of Voyageurs National Park. VNPA provides travel grants to connect students to the park, manages a Land Preservation Initiative to help willing sellers transfer private property to park ownership, and organizes and annual Volunteer Rendezvous
Friends of Voyageurs National Park
The Friends of Voyageurs National Park is a non-profit organization whose mission is to sponsor outreach that supports natural, historical, and educational activities available at Voyageurs National Park.
The Heart of the Continent
The Heart of the Continent (HOCP) is a Canadian/American coalition of land managers and local stakeholders working together on cross-border projects that promote the economic, cultural and natural health of the lakes, forests, and communities on the Minnesota/Ontario border.
Did You Know?
Voyageurs National Park experienced a large, lightning-ignited fire on the Kabetogama Peninsula in 2004. This young eagle survived the fire and returned to its former nesting tree in time for park researchers to take this photo!
