Voyageurs National Park Reminds Visitors Reservations are Required For Tent Camping

International Falls, MN –Voyageurs National Park staff would like to remind all park visitors that reservations are required for tent camping within the park.Reservations can be made in advance by going online or by calling the National Call Center.

The park is entering its high use season - May 15 through September 15. There is a $10 charge for the use of the reservation system and a per night amenity fee for the use of the campsite. Park visitors are encouraged to place a reservation as soon as possible;reservations have been open since

November 15, 2014.

All income collected by www.recreation.gov for the park's amenity fees will be returned to Voyageurs National Park. These funds will be used to improve the sites;dock repair, bear-proof food locker replacement, tent pad repair, picnic table replacement and fire ring repair. Fees collected will also go to site administration, enforcement, and the cleaning of campsites.

Houseboats are not included in the reservation system in 2015.

Visitors may make reservations by going online at www.recreation.gov or by calling the National Call Center at (877) 444-6777. Reminder –Ask or search for Permits &Wilderness, not Camping!
