Kids' Art Show
Every year Voyageurs National Park celebrates National Park Week in April with a Kid's Art Show. Local students use their talents to create artwork centered around a yearly park-related theme. It's a celebration of the community and the park.
All students in grades PreK-6 are invited to participate in the Kids Art Show. This year's activity is not a contest, but a participation event with all works of art to be displayed at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center. Students are welcome to bring family and friends to the visitor center during National Park Week to view their art.
In hour of Voyageurs' 40th birthday, this year's (2015) theme is "Celebrate Voyageurs National Park". Students are encouraged to think of a reason to celebrate the park, draw a picture, and write a short passage describing it. Is it fun to go snowshoeing or skiing in the park? Is there are a special campsite you visit each year with family or friends? There are many reasons to celebrate Voyageurs National Park and what makes this a special place!
