Kids' Art Show
Every year Voyageurs National Park celebrates National Park Week in April with a Kid's Art Show. Local students use their talents to create artwork centered around a yearly park-related theme. It's a celebration of the community and the park.
All students in grades PreK-6 are invited to participate in the Kids Art Show. This year's activity is not a contest, but a participation event with all works of art to be displayed at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center. Students are welcome to bring family and friends to the visitor center during National Park Week to view their art.
This year's theme is "I Spy a Sign of Spring at Voyageurs National Park". Many amazing changes occur in the spring at Voyageurs. Some animals are awakening after a long winter's nap while others are making a thousand mile flight to reach the park's lakes and forests. The trees and even the lakes are changing this season. Students are encouraged to think of a sign of spring happening at the park, draw a picture, and write a short passage describing it.
All entries for 2014 must use the age appropriate template; we will not be accepting posters of various sizes as in previous years.
Entries must be turned into the park by the end of the day on Friday, April 18th, 2014.
