16^th Texas Cavalry (Dismounted)

This unit was attached to Brig. Gen. Henry E. McCulloch's 1st Brigade of Maj. Gen. John G. Walker's Division, Maj. Gen. Richard Taylor's District of Western Louisiana in Lt. Gen. Edmund Kirby Smith's Trans-Mississippi Department and was commanded by Lt. Col. E. P. Gregg (wounded 7 June 1863), Maj. W. W. Diamond (wounded 7 June 1863) & Capt. J. D. Woods.
