On October 29, 2011, Vicksburg National Military Park invites visitors to step back in time for an evening candlelight walk on the battlefield, where they will meet the historical personalities that shaped the story of the monumental struggle for Vicksburg.

Tours begin at 5:30 p.m., and depart every half-hour, lasting approximately 1.5 hours. Participants are urged to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for weather on this one-mile walk along the park road.

The event is free, however reservations are required, with each tour limited to 25 visitors. Tour times are at 5:30, 6:00, 6:30, 7:00, 7:30 and 8:00. For reservations please call (601) 636-0583.
