Do you want to spend a summer as a ranger at one of America's premier historic national parks? Are you prepared to tell the story of the turning-point campaign of the American Civil War to tens of thousands of visitors? Have you always wanted to wear heavy wool uniforms in 100 degree heat? This could be your chance!

The National Park Service is taking applications for several anticipated positions as seasonal Interpretive rangers at Vicksburg National Military Park. The appointments will be effective from mid-May until early August, 2014, and pay $13.55 per hour. Duties will include staffing the park information desks at the Visitor Center and USS Cairo Museum, providing ranger programs and walks at venues throughout the park, and assisting in the Living History program by giving talks, programs and demonstrations of Civil War weaponry.

Applications must be submitted online, and will be accepted only from Monday, January 27th through Friday, January 31st, 2014. No applications or résumés will be accepted at the park. Information on the jobs, as well as directions for how to apply are on the Federal Government's online employment site, USAJobs, at: https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/359595700
