Multiple monument located outside of Vicksburg National Military Park, on former park property in the City of Vicksburg, on the west side of Mission 66 approximately 0.1 mile south of Indiana Avenue. During the Greenville Expedition, this unit was attached to Brig. Gen. Stephen D. Lee’s Reinforced Brigade. Afterwards, the regiment was assigned to Brig. Gen. Alfred Cumming’s 3d Brigade, of Maj. Gen. Carter L. Stevenson’s Division, Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton’s Army of Vicksburg, and commanded by Col. Elihu P. Watkins (wounded 16 May 1863) and Lt. Col. J. T. Slaughter. Lt. S. T. Moore was mortally wounded at the Battle of Champion Hill, 16 May 1863. [Refer to Gen.
