Multiple monument located on Confederate Avenue at Fort Hill (Park Tour Stop 9). This unit was attached to Col. Edward Higgins' River Defense Batteries, Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Army of Vicksburg, and commanded by Col. A. Jackson, Jr. and Lt. Col. R. Sterling. [Refer to Edwin Bearss' The Vicksburg Campaign, Volume I, page 226; and Volume III, pages 781, 782, 873, and 968.]

Company C (Norman's) - This company served one 9-inch Dahlgren gun in the Harwood House Battery, and was commanded by Lt. H.T. Norman. Later, the gun and its crew were re-positioned to Brig. Gen. John C. Moore's sector of the defense lines (30 June 1863 - 4 July 1863). [Refer to Edwin Bearss' The Vicksburg Campaign, Volume I, page 460; Volume II, pages 61 and 63; and Volume III, page 782.]
