Monument is located on Grant Avenue between the Kansas Memorial and Grant Circle. This unit was attached to Col. William W. Sanford's 4th Brigade of Brig. Gen. William Sooy Smith's 1st Division, Maj. Gen. Cadwallader C. Washburn's XVI Army Corps (Detachment) and was commanded by Col. Lucien Greathouse. [Refer to pages 694 & 695, Volume VI of the WPA Monumentation Survey Books.]
