Monument located on Confederate Avenue, 100 yards east of Fort Hill (Park Tour Stop 9). Also, a trench marker located on the north side of Confederate Avenue just east of Fort Hill. This unit was an unattached command in Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Army of Vicksburg, and commanded by Maj. J. R. Stevens. [Refer to Edwin Bearss' The Vicksburg Campaign, Volume III, pages 780, 873, and 968.]
