Multiple monument located on the north side of Confederate Avenue at the Railroad Redoubt (Park Tour Stop 13). This unit, originally attached to Brig. Gen. Samuel B. Maxey's Brigade, of Maj. Gen. Franklin Gardner's 3d Military District at Port Hudson, LA, Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Department of Mississippi and East Louisiana, was ordered to Jackson, MS, on 4 May 1863, and assigned to Brig. Gen. Samuel B. Maxey's Brigade, of Maj. Gen. Samuel G. French's Division (organized 21 June 1863), Gen. Joseph E. Johnston's Army of Relief, Department of the West, and commanded by Maj.
