Monument is located outside of Vicksburg National Military Park on former park property in the City of Vicksburg, on Hall's Ferry Road at (north) Illinois Circle midway between Interstate 20 & Confederate Avenue. Also a marker located 350' from Hall's Ferry Road, between the Georgia Salient Work and John Allen Street, designating a sharpshooter's line. This unit was attached to Col. Cyrus Hall's 2nd Brigade of Brig. Gen. Jacob G. Lauman's 4th Division, Maj. Gen. Cadwallader C. Washburn's XVI Army Corps (Detachment) and was commanded by Col. George C. Rogers. The regiment entered the campaign at Young's Point on 15 May 1863 and into the investment lines about 25 May 1863. Capt. George W. Bradley was KIA during the siege.
