The Bolls Farm is the traditional site where a regiment of the Union infantry, en route to the Battle of Champion Hill on the morning of May 16, 1863, raided a number of beehives kept by the Bolls family. The bees routed the entire regiment.

Evaluation

This site has local significance because of its association with military activities and events that achieved or affected important local objectives of the Vicksburg campaign.
