Laws and Policies
Before you visit Valley Forge National Historical Park, please become familiar with park laws and policies. These regulations not only protect our visitors, but also the many cultural and natural resources in the park.
Special Use Permits
Gatherings and commercial activities in National Parks often require a special use permit. The purpose of these permits is to ensure the protection of the park's natural and cultural resources, as well as to minimize conflicts between park visitors and your guests. Find out if your event/project requires a special use permit.
Did You Know?
None of the original soldier huts remain. The huts that you see in the park today are reproductions based on the model that General Washington wanted the soldiers to follow. Despite a lack of tools and the relative haste in which they were built, most served as decent shelters for the troops.
