The Friends of Valley Forge Park exists to engage public support for the Park, enhance public use and enjoyment of the Park and share in the stewardship of the natural and historical resources of the Park.

The Friends accomplishes its work by advocating and raising funds for the Park, developing and offering programs that educate the public and enhance their experiences, and volunteering in support of Park programs and projects.

None of the original soldier huts remain. The huts that you see in the park today are reproductions based on the model that General Washington wanted the soldiers to follow. Despite a lack of tools and the relative haste in which they were built, most served as decent shelters for the troops.
