Park Police Association



Objectives. The Association was formed to pursue the following objectives:

To associate persons who have retired from, and those employed by, the United States Park Police. To work towards improvement of benefits and to keep its members appraised of the latest information involving benefits. To sponsor social functions for its members.

Principal Executive Office. The principle executive office for the transaction of the activities and affairs of the RUSPPA is to be located at allocation designated by the Board of Directors. The Executive Director shall be responsible for supervising the operation of the principle executive office.

Membership

Application for Membership. Application for membership shall be made using an official membership application for. The completed form shall be submitted directly to the Executive Director of the RUSPPA, along with the annual dues and assessments established in accordance with the provisions of these By-Laws. The procedures for the review and approval of each membership shall conform to the provisions of these by-laws.

Membership Categories. Membership categories shall consist of: Active, Life Active, Associate and Honorary.

 Active Membership. The active membership of the RUSPPA shall consist of persons who are retired, both sworn and civilian, members of the United States Park Police. All Active Members shall be entitled to one (1) vote with respect to each matter presented to the membership of the RUSPPA, shall receive one (1) copy of the annual membership directory, and shall receive one (1) copy of each issue of any RUSPPA publication.

Associate Members. USPP, upon retirement from active service shall immediately become active members of the Association. Life Active. All active members who have paid their annual membership dues and assessments for the past 20 years shall automatically be designated as Life Active Members. Life Active Members shall be exempt from the payment of annual dues and assessments. Life Active Members shall be entitled to all the privileges of an Active Member to include voting rights.

Associate Membership. USPP, Associate membership, USPP, of the RUSPPA shall consist of all active, sworn and civilian, members of the United States Park Police and other active or retired law enforcement personnel. They shall, in all respects, be subject to the same rules, fees and charges and entitled to the same rights and privileges as Active Members, except that they shall not be entitled to election, or appointed, to serve as the Executive Director, Secretary/Treasurer or Board Chair. Associate members in this category will have one board position on the Executive Committee. Associate Membership, Other Associate membership, other, consists of active or retired law enforcement personnel from all other agencies, and other reputable persons who are fully or partially engaged in any of the various phases of law enforcement. They shall be entitled to the same rights and privileges as Active Members, except that they shall not be entitled to election to any position.

Honorary Membership. Honorary membership in the RUSPPA will be limited to a widow or widower of retired members, sworn or civilian, of the United States Park Police. An honorary member will be a non-voting member who is entitled to the same rights and privileges as Active Members.
